One of our key initiatives is the Community Ambassador Leadership Training (CALT) Program, which aims to develop a network of trained community ambassadors who can act as trusted guides to resources and services, ultimately supporting meaningful employment and economic opportunities.

The CALT Program is designed to identify and train emerging leaders within refugee and immigrant communities, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate local resources and effectively connect their communities to these opportunities. These ambassadors will help bridge gaps in communication, understanding, and access, promoting a culture of trust and collaboration between service providers and community members.

Program Development: Building the Curriculum
The first phase of the CALT Program is focused on curriculum development. From now through the end of 2024, we are conducting Key Informant and Focus Group interviews to gather data and insights from community members, service providers, and other stakeholders. This data will inform a culturally responsive and effective curriculum that addresses the unique needs and challenges faced by refugee and immigrant communities.
The first phase of the CALT Program is focused on curriculum development. From now through the end of 2024, we are conducting Key Informant and Focus Group interviews to gather data and insights from community members, service providers, and other stakeholders. Starting in January 2025, we will begin the implementation phase of the program, which will run through May 2027. During this period, the CALT Program will conduct five separate cohort training sessions, bringing together a diverse group of participants who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. Each of our training sessions will offer comprehensive insights into local resources, effective community engagement strategies, leadership development, and advocacy skills.

Upon completing the training, participants become certified Community Ambassadors who will be ready to serve as vital connectors within their communities. These ambassadors will be equipped to:

- Guide community members to resources such as healthcare, employment services, legal aid, education, and more.

- Foster trust and build relationships between service providers and community members.
- Promote social and economic integration by supporting pathways to meaningful work and wealth-building opportunities.
